THE WINNER OF THE 6TH STAGE: JASPER PHILIPSEN!

Jasper Philipsen of Belgium’s Alpecin-Fenix team triumphed the 6th stage (Fethiye-Marmaris) of 56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey.

 

 

162 athletes attended to the 129.1 kilometer stage, which started in Muğla's Fethiye district and ended in Marmaris.

 

 

Jasper Philipsen completed the stage in 2 hours 55 minutes and 50 seconds.

 

 

In the sixth stage, German rider Andre Greipel of Israel's Start-Up Nation team came in second and Norwegian rider Kristoffer Halvorsen of Norway's Uno-X Pro ranked third.

 

 

At the end of the 6th stage of TOUR, Spanish rider Jose Manuel Diaz Gallego of French Delko team  secured his first place in the general classification(GC).

 

 

In the general classification, Australian rider Jay Vine of Belgium’s Alpecin-Fenix team secured the second place with 4 seconds down and Argentinean Eduardo Sepulveda of Italy's Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec team secured the third place with 6 seconds down, followingly.

 

 

Having a significant advantage by winning the previous stage and capturing the turquoise swimsuit, Gallego protected his swimsuit with an overall timing of 21 hours 34 minutes 17 seconds. The Spanish cyclist will wear the turquoise swimsuit again in the Marmaris-Turgutreis stage tomorrow.
