SAKARYA MTB CUP 2020
Organized by Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality on October 23-25 under the auspices of the Presidency, Sunflower Bicycle Valley hosted hundreds of athletes and trainers from different countries at the 2020 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships.
With the official opening of Sakarya EXPO, events, bicycle shows, competitions, entertainment shows, folk dances, educational activities were presented to the participants and visitors.
Visitors had fun moments by attending the events where surprise gifts were given.
The spectacular show performed by our national athlete Birkan Polat on his motorcycle cheered the audience up. The symbolic motorcycle race attended by Mayor of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, Ekrem Yüce, Turkish Motorcycle Racer and our National Pride, Deputy of Sakarya, Kenan Sofuoğlu, National Athlete Birkan Polat and Toprak Razgatlıoğlu also received great applause from the audience.
Before the championship race, 204 athletes from 30 countries demonstrated show races on the 100-kilometer track. It was fought hard. Fog in the air reduced visibility. Athletes had a real hard time.

The celebrities of the cycling world came together in Sakarya. In Sunflower Bicycle Valley, pedals were turned to become the world champion of the year 2020.
In the Elite Men category of the championship, last year's champion, Colombian Hector Leonardo Paez Leon, came first.
In the same category, Portugal's Red Bull athlete Ferreira Tiago placed second and Czech Stosek Martin placed third.
In the Elite Women category, Swiss Ramona Forchini became the champion, Polish Maja Wloszczowska came in second and Swiss Ariene Luthi finished as the third.
