MARK CAVENDISH WINS STAGE 2
On the second day of the 56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, Briton Mark Cavendish from Belgium's Deceuninck-Quick-Step team got the first place on the Konya-Konya stage.
Cavendish won the 144.9-kilometer stage, which started in Mevlana Square with the participation of 170 athletes from 25 teams, with a time of 3 hours 17 minutes 30 seconds.
The peloton finished in Konya, with Jasper Philipsen of Alpecin-Fenix team sprinting to second and André Greipel of Israel Start-Up Nation team securing third.
Mark Cavendish of Belgium's Deceuninck-Quick-Step team took the stage victory and the overall lead.
Cavendish, the winner of the day, qualified for the turquoise swimsuit as he ranked first in the general classification (GC).
In the general classification (GC), Dutch Arvid De Kleijn from Rally Cycling team of the USA ranks second and Belgian Jasper Philipsen from Belgium's Alpecin-Fenix takes the third place.
