ASIA ANEW WORKSHOP
First step of Asia Anew Initiation towards academics and think-tanks, Asia Anew Workshop was held in Ankara with the participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
The workshop aims to exchange ideas, evaluate the dynamics of the continent within the scope of Asia Anew initiation and considering political proposals which enable Turkey to take advantage of the opportunities and contribute to deal with regional challenges in Asia.
Stressing the main objective of Asia Anew initiation as the need to considerate the rising Asia, Çavuşoğlu said: "We will continue to participate in the European integration process on one side and will protect our key position in the world's strongest alliance, NATO. We will also maintain our role as ‘the Asian in the west and European in the east’ during this formation of the century by Asia."
Çavuşoğlu stated that they already have very special relations with Central Asian countries and that Turkey has close relations with many Asian countries.

With this initiative, which is a part of Turkey’s entrepreneurial and humanitarian foreign policy concept, we aim to reach the peak in relations with Asian countries and regional organization in the fields of knowledge, science, trade, investment, transportation, defense industry, culture, tourism, political contacts and human interaction, towards mutual respect and cooperation.
Indicating that Asia has to be considered one-third part of the earth, Çavuşoğlu stated: "Asia is the most populous continent. Asia has the biggest cities. Half of the world's middle class lives in Asia. Whether demographically or in terms of development, markets will expand the most in Asia."
“With experience and sensitivity in humanitarian and mediation issues, Turkey will continue to provide constructive contributions in overcoming these problems," the minister added.
