President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the foreign trade figures for 2021 at the program held in Istanbul.

Speaking at the program, TIM President İsmail Gülle said, "We are in a new league now. We must achieve economies of scale in order to be permanent in this new league we have entered. We must implement new investments in order to catch up with large-scale businesses."

Our total exports for 2021 increased by 32.9 percent compared to the previous year and reached 225 billion 368 million dollars. This is an all-time record. Our foreign trade deficit, on the other hand, declined to 45.9 billion dollars with a decrease of 7.8 percent compared to the previous year, while the ratio of exports to exports rose to 83.1 percent.

Stating that we have reached the highest export value in the history of the Republic in the product group of 75 chapters, Erdoğan announced that the export target for 2020 has been revised as 250 billion dollars.

Noting that the number of exporting companies had increased to 101 thousand 386 by the end of 2021, President Erdoğan added, "We broke an export record in 11 of the last 12 months."

President Erdoğan said “We are increasing the number of countries with which we do business in Turkish Lira day by day. Do not underestimate Turkish Lira, our money is very important. I hope our money will be decisive among economies, do not worry. Our foreign trade volume with TL has reached 183 billion TL.”
