TURKEYʼS LARGEST ENERGY INVESTMENT: AKKUYU NUCLEER

Following the foundation of Hydrotechnical Structures Construction, the sod-turning ceremony of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant was held on April 3, 2018.

In Akkuyu, Minister of Development, Lütfi Elvan laid the foundation of the power plant by pressing the button, while President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the ceremony through video conferencing from the Presidential Complex.

Opening and sod-turning ceremonies are what makes the meaning of a work worthwhile. With these ceremonies, a sympathy base can be created in the context of architectural work. These ceremonies are the ones that addresses a common consciousness, strengthens the public perception and builds brandʼs value.

The most fundamental principle that the CEO Event considers in the opening and sod-turning ceremonies of large public investments that draws the whole worldʼs attention is ensuring that people can gather and become closely knit around a building.

The first unit will start production in 2023 at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which will consist of 4 nuclear reactors. In 2026, 7,7% of our energy needs will be met.
