The promotion of the Mesopotamia brand, which was created to introduce the tourism potential of the Southeastern Anatolia Region to the whole world, was held at the Şanlıurfa Archeology Museum with the participation of Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Mustafa Varank.

Emphasizing that rich past, countless cultural and natural assets deserve more attention as the common heritage of humanity, Mustafa Varank stated that “Important archaeological sites, traditional and original architecture, religious sites belonging to many faiths, handicrafts and rich local cuisine are just some of the beauties that the region offers to modern-day travelers.”

Varank finished his speech as follows: “We want to make Mesopotamia a global brand and put it into people's minds, moreover, we want to ensure that more people visit these places and collect unforgettable memories.”

Stating that all of the assets regarding tourism, from nature to climate diversity, from cuisine to handicrafts, from architecture to archaeological remains, are in Turkey while the other countries have only one or two of these assets, Minister Varank said “Being aware of this fact, we have determined as our main goal to highlight each region and our cities with their differences and tourism elements, and to spread tourism throughout our country without exception.”

After the speeches, Minister Ersoy, Minister Varank and the brand's stakeholder organizations signed the joint protocol.
