56TH PRESIDENTIAL CYCLING TOUR OF TURKEY

The countdown has begun for the 56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey. TOUR 2021, which could not be organized last year for the first time in 55 years due to the epidemic, and planned to start from Cappadocia on April 11 this year, will be canceled due to heavy snowfall and will start in Konya with its 2nd stage on April 12th.

 

 

The organization, which will continue with the stages of Konya, Beyşehir, Alanya, Kemer, Kumluca, Elmalı, Göğübeli Summit, Fethiye, Marmaris, Turgutreis, Bodrum, will end on April 18 in Kuşadası.

 

 

On the 167.3-kilometer Nevşehir-Cappadocia track, the riders who will start cycling from Kayaşehir, the historical slope settlement carved out of rock, will complete the stage by passing through Ürgüp, Avanos, Çavuşin, Göreme and Uçhisar five times in total.

 

 

The 56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, with a total distance of 1280 km from all stages, will be broadcast live to nearly 180 countries on more than 20 channels, on TRT and Eurosport screens.

 

 

Erol Küçükbakırcı, The President of Turkish Cycling Federation, said “This 56th TOUR will be the most powerful tour ever made in 55 years” in his statement.

 

 

Küçükbakırcı also stated that “Participation from A-category countries is so high that we have stopped the registration right now. We cannot exceed the number 176. We have exceeded this number. Even if there is a cancellation, there are 5-7 countries in substitution.

 

 

The stages of the 56th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey are as follows;

1st stage: Nevşehir - Cappadocia (167.3 kilometers) (Kayaşehir)

2nd stage: Konya-Konya (150 kilometers)

3rd stage: Beyşehir-Alanya (218 kilometers)

4th stage: Alanya-Kemer (180 kilometers)

5th stage: Kemer-Elmalı (Göğübeli) (162 kilometers)

6th stage: Fethiye-Marmaris (137 kilometers)

7th stage: Marmaris-Turgutreis (182 kilometers)

8th stage: Bodrum-Kuşadası (162 kilometers)
